RICHLAND COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT

— Three known gang members have been arrested following a joint effort by the Richland County Sheriff Department Gang Task Force and the City of Columbia Police Department Gang Unit, according to Sheriff Leon Lott.

Lott said Saquan Praylow, 18; Rodney Friday, 17; Rolmono Cooke, 18; Devan Nelson, 17; and Jasmine Sanders, 18; assaulted a 15-year-old at the corner of Plain and Truman Streets around 6:30 p.m. on May 27.

“The victim was struck in the upper body by an object then transported to Palmetto Health Richland Hospital,” Lott said. “The victim has since been released and continues to recover.”

The suspects went to the area with the intent to commit a criminal act, and rival gangs met to inflict bodily harm and to terrorize the community, Lott said.

Lott said Praylow, Friday and Cooke have all been charged with assault and battery by mob.

Police continue to look for Nelson and Sanders.

“The unified gang task force will continue to seek out Nelson, Sanders and any individuals involved in criminal activity,” Lott said.
