— The Richland County Coroner has identified the victim who was killed in Wednesday’s morning shooting at the Brook Pines Apartment complex near Broad River Road.

Gary Watts said 23-year-old Dajuan N. Harris, of Columbia, died from complications from multiple gunshot wounds to his upper body and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Sgt. Curtis Wilson, a Sheriff's Department spokesman, said Dexter Lamons Myers, 20, has been charged with murder and attempted murder in connection with Harris’ death. Myers is accused of shooting Harris and his wife, who was Myers’ sister, in the lower body. Her condition is currently unknown.

A manhunt for Myers started Wednesday morning after deputies responded to a “shots fired” call inside an apartment at 113 Brook Pines Drive around 8:30 a.m.

K-9 officer units and air support were used to track down Myers, who was arrested a few hours later, Wilson said.
