RICHLAND LIBRARY FRIENDS BOOK SALE: 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday at the Richland Library Operations Center, 130 Lancewood Road (across from Dutch Square Mall). A half-price reduction sale is 2-5 p.m. July 20. www.richlandlibrary.com

FIND WALDO IN CAMDEN: Famous children’s book character Waldo will visit 25 Camden businesses in July. Those who spot him can win prizes, including buttons, book coupons and more. To participate, pick up a “Find Waldo in Camden!” passport (which includes a list of all 25 locations) and begin collecting stamps for each Waldo spotted. KERSHAW LIBRARY BOOK TO ACTION PROGRAM: Kershaw Library is promoting gardening, healthy cooking, urban farming and reading through its Book to Action project, featuring “Animal, Vegetable, Miracle” by Barbara Kingsolver. Throughout the summer, the library will host book discussions, cooking demonstrations, gardening workshops and chicken coop building sessions. Copies of the book will be available for check-out at the library and for sale at Books on Broad, 944 Broad St., Camden. www.kershawcountylibrary.org

THE GROWING PLOT WEEKLY GARDENING CLUB: Meets 9 a.m. Tuesday mornings through Aug. 12, 1304 Broad St., Camden. Families are invited to help create a community garden with help from experienced gardeners. Register by calling (803) 425-1508.

SUMTER COUNTY LIBRARY ADULT SUMMER READING PROGRAM: Runs through Aug. 14. Patrons may submit book reviews at the Main, Wesmark or South Sumter libraries or online at www.shelfari.com. A grand prize will be awarded at the end of the program.
