Dog tales: Read Columbia native’s puppy love story

Posted on July 14, 2014

Columbia native Bruce Littlefield is featured on the cover of the spring/summer issue of NY Pet magazine.

Littlefield, an author and lifestyle consultant, wrote about losing his longtime dog Jasper – and finding new puppy love in the aftermath.

After putting his dog down, Littlefield and his partner went to the Westminster Kennel Club dog show, where they encounter a breeder with some sage advice:

“You’ll never fill the spot you have in your heart for Jasper, but when you get another dog you’ll find a spot in your heart that you never knew you had.”

What happened next? The story is called, after all, “Finding Westminster.”
