MORNING BUZZ: T-Rav enters US Senate fray + end of an era at USC

Posted by JAMIE SELF on July 15, 2014

Charleston reality-television star and former state treasurer Thomas Ravenel on Monday submitted a petition to run against U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham as an independent. Asked if voters can take him seriously after he served jail time and probation for a felony cocaine charge, Ravenel said, “In the business community, I have a sterling record. I know I’m an imperfect messenger, but my personal life is my problem. Lindsey Graham’s public life is your problem.”

Exclusive: Gamecocks graduating into the world will no longer make their exit from USC through the Carolina Coliseum. The arena is slated to be converted for use by USC hoops teams.

Happening today: Gov. Nikki Haley at 11 a.m. will take part in a groundbreaking ceremony at Ruiz Foods in Florence ... The Columbia City Council is set to take a final vote on a controversial baseball stadium loan.
