EWU, UM, MSU picked 1-2-3 in Big Sky football poll

The Associated PressJuly 15, 2014

Eastern Washington is favored to defend its Big Sky Conference football title, according to polls of coaches and media members that cover the league.

The top six teams in both polls are the same, with Montana second, followed by Montana State, Cal Poly, Northern Arizona and Southern Utah.

EWU received all 12 of the possible first-place votes in the coaches' poll. Coaches are not allowed to vote for their own teams and Montana received the other first-place vote in the coaches' poll.

The Eagles received 34 of the 36 first-place votes cast in the media poll. Montana and Montana State each received one.

Eastern Washington went 8-0 in league play last season and advanced to the FCS semifinals for the second consecutive year.

The polls were released Tuesday at the league's summer meetings being held in Park City, Utah.
