CELEBRITY SOFTBALL FUN-RAISER: 6 p.m. Saturday at Carolina Softball Stadium, 1318 Heyward St. University of South Carolina women’s basketball coach Dawn Staley, along with INNERSOLE, will host the event. Participants include Alshon Jeffrey, Justice Cunningham, Ray Tanner, Sheriff Leon Lott, George Rogers, Judi Gatson, Michael Haley and others. Tickets are $10. Prevention is key

WOMEN AT HEART EARLY HEALTH SCREENINGS: 7-10 a.m. July 26 and Aug. 6, 13, 20 at Palmetto Health Baptist, 1501 Sumter St., ground floor, Classrooms D and E. Screenings will include a fasting lipid panel, blood pressure, body mass index, fasting glucose as well as weight and waist circumference. Health screenings require a 12-hour fast. 2014 FOOTBALL KICKOFF WITH BRETT FAVRE: 7 p.m. Thursday at Township Auditorium, 1703 Taylor St. Balcony seats are $50 and orchestra seats are $60. Proceeds will benefit The Calhoun Trauma Brain Injury Foundation. The evening will open with a silent auction at 5:30 p.m. and music from The One Man Band and Elliott & the Untouchables.
