Columbia police ID carjacking suspect

A man has been identified as a suspect in a carjacking last week.

Columbia police are looking for Solomon Zacheriah Smith, 19, in connection with a Friday morning incident at a Garners Ferry Road Sunoco station.

A woman told police she was waiting in the parking lot in her car, a 2005 Ford Taurus with license plate FHW 733, when a man opened the driver's door at around 7:30 a.m. and threatened to shoot her if she did not get out.

The woman exited the car, and the man drove it off.

Smith is described as 5-feet, 10-inches tall, 150 pounds, with a clean-shaven face and cornrows.
