A 36-year-old Rock Hill woman died after the motorcycle she was riding collided head-on with a pick-up on Church Street near Rock Hill around 4:40 p.m. Sunday, according to the Highway Patrol.

The woman, who was heading north on Church Street, drove the Harley Davidson motorcycle across the center line in a curved part of the road, said Lance Cpl. Jeff Gaskin of the patrol. She struck a pick-up heading south on Church Street head-on, Gaskin said.

The woman was thrown from the motorcycle and pronounced dead at the scene, Gaskin said. She was not wearing a helmet, he said. Her name is not available at this time.

The Rock Hill man driving the pick-up was not injured in the crash, Gaskin said.

The speed limit on Church Street is 45 mph, Gaskin said.

Speed and alcohol are not believed to be factors in the collision, Gaskin said. No charges have been filed in the crash.
