Roseburg to buy 2 Orangeburg facilities

Roseburg Forest Products of Oregon will buy a former Georgia Pacific fiberboard manufacturing facility and Decolam Inc.'s Orangeburg specialty laminating plant.

In addition to planned improvements to the facilities, Roseburg will invest $49 million, the Orangeburg County Development Commission and the S.C. Department of Commerce said.

Roseburg supplies lumber, particleboard, softwood plywood, engineered wood products and specialty panels to furniture manufacturers and big-box retailers.

Roseburg will employ nearly 200 workers.
