BANKING & FINANCE

Tavette A. Martin has been named assistant vice president/financial advisor at Ameris Bank in Irmo. She will offer financial planning services in the Midlands and Upstate. She worked with Wachovia for 24 years.

CONSTRUCTION

Meg Pridemore, construction manager at DESA Inc., has received the Green Building Certification Institute's LEED Green Associate certification.

GOVERNMENT

The Municipal Association of South Carolina has won three honors from the International Association of Business Communicators Palmetto Awards in print communications, single publication and event marketing materials.

INSURANCE

Michael C. Shealy of Lexington has been elected to the board of Woodmen of the World/Omaha Woodmen Life Insurance Society. Shealy is vice president of the Woodmen's Oak Grove Lodge 273 and has been president of the group's South Carolina jurisdiction.. He co-owns Carroll's Electric Service and CarrMike Builders.

PHT Services, Ltd. associate Karin M. Allen has earned the Associate in Claims professional designation.

Catherine H. Kennedy of Turner Padget has been elected as a Fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel.

Hahl Inc. of Lexington has been recognized by the S.C. Recycling Market Development Advisory Council and the S.C. Department of Commerce for its recycling efforts. Hahl - a manufacturer of monofilament, bristle and abrasive bristle - recycles cardboard, plastic bottles, aluminum cans, paper and fluorescent light bulbs.
