Recalls: Streamer fireworks pose risk of shocks

About 84,250 Oh Chute parachute with streamer fireworks, manufactured in China and distributed by Fireworks Over America, are being recalled because the parachutes can get tangled in power lines, posing a risk of shocks.

• Girls’ jewelry items tainted with lead

About 13,000 It’s a Girl Thing bracelets, necklaces and phone charms, manufactured in China and distributed by Bead Bazaar USA, are being recalled because the jewelry might contain high levels of lead, which is toxic if ingested.

The jewelry was sold around the country between February 2006 and June 2008. Details: (800) 838-1769; www.beadkit.com.

• Supplements have undeclared ingredients

Jack Distribution and its two wholesale distributors — G&N Works and Devine Distribution — are recalling select lots of Rize 2 The Occasion and Rose 4 Her supplements because they might contain erectile dysfunction drug components that are not declared on the packaging.

The supplements might contain thiomethisosildenafil, a chemical that mimics the active ingredient in Viagra. This compound could interact with nitrates found in some prescription drugs for diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol or heart disease. If the active drug ingredients interact with nitrates, it could cause blood pressure to drop to dangerous levels.

Rize 2 The Occasion was available in single blister packs, and bottles containing three, 12 or 30 pills. Rose 4 Her was available in single blister packs and bottles containing three pills. • DC power supplies incorrectly wired

About 160,000 13.8V DC power supplies, manufactured in China and imported by Radio Shack, are being recalled because they are incorrectly wired and pose a risk of fires or electrocution.

• Quick release devices for bikes might break

About 800 SunRingle hollow quick release devices for bicycles, manufactured in Taiwan by Hayes Bicycle Group, are being recalled because they can fail or break when in the locked position. This could cause the rider to lose control.
