Hannah Horne, co-anchor of WIS-TV’s “Sunrise,” will have her last cup of coffee with viewers today.

Horne, 33, is leaving the station to go to work for the South Carolina Film Commission, where she will work to attract film companies to the state.

Kara Gormley will be Horne’s interim replacement on the morning show.

Horne, who also co-anchors the midday news, has been a TV journalist for 10 years. She joined WIS in 2000. Many turned to Horne and the “Sunrise” team for news, weather and something to soften the buzz of the alarm clock.

Horne said she has “mixed feelings” about leaving TV because of the “precious daily relationship I have with the viewers.”

Gormley, who will return early from maternity leave Monday, has worked on the WIS morning team before. She will be the anchor at least through May, said Barry Ahrendt, WIS’ director of marketing and programming.

Horne might miss dispensing the news, but not having to rise at 3 a.m. to be at the station by 4. She said she’ll enjoy spending normal hours with her husband, Joseph, and working with charities such as Sistercare.

And having that morning cup of coffee at home.
