Southeastern Freight Lines in Lexington was selected for the second year in a row as the Platinum Carrier of the Year by Lowe’s. The regional carrier is the only less-than-truckload carrier to receive the award — the highest award possible from the home improvement retailer.

South Carolina Tourism won Google Inc.’s first-ever Wisdom of the Crowd Award for its multi-faceted Chicago campaign. The S.C. Department of Parks, Recreation and Tourism aired its “Time to Thaw” campaign in February and March 2008. It was chosen from three finalists and also won Gold and Silver Adrian Awards from HMSAI (www.HSMAI.org) for best practices in travel-related marketing and media.

Freightliner Custom Chassis Corp. (FCCC) has been recognized as one of the newest members of the S.C. Environmental Excellence Program (SCEEP) by the state Department of Health and Environmental Control. FCCC was admitted to the program for its zero waste to landfill efforts, a pilot program initiated by its parent company, Daimler Trucks North America. The intent of their program is to become 100 percent landfill waste-free by 2010. As of Dec. 31, the company had achieved a 90 percent waste-free status.

KeenanSuggs of Columbia has been named the 2008 Agency of the Year by the Accident Fund Insurance Co. of America.

ADCO, a full service strategic marketing, creative design and interactive media solutions firm in Columbia, was recently honored by the Carolina Healthcare Public Relations and Marketing Society at the 2008 Wallie Awards, held in Charleston. ADCO received four awards, including the Golden Tusk Award for their creation of an interactive CD for Palmetto Health Human Resources.
