Sensor Electronic Technology of Columbia recently earned a Prism Award from SPIE, the international society of optics and photonics. The award recognizes the best in innovative technology in that field. Sensor won for its new Deep UV Light Sources.
Saluda River Club, a new home community in Lexington, has won two Pinnacle Awards from the Home Builders Association of South Carolina. It was cited for Best Sales and Information Center and Best Landscaping.
Dennis Corp., a civil engineering, surveying and construction firm in Columbia, was named “Best Supplier/Service Company” by the Carolinas Associated General Contractors. The company was cited for its thoroughness and attention to detail and making the bidding process easier and more accurate.
The Columbia office of Fisher & Phillips, a national labor and employment law firm, recently won the South Carolina Hospitality Association’s Supplier of the Year Award.
Watson Tate Savory of Columbia won two merit awards for design from the S.C. chapter of the American Institute of Architects. The awards were for the James E. Clyburn Intermodal Transportation Center in Sumter and the College of Charleston School of Education.
Southern Strutt of Irmo was recognized as the second most competitive dance studio in North America and first in South Carolina by Dance Universe magazine. The dance company was recognized for its innovation, technicality and risk.
Carolina Event Consultants, a Columbia-based event planning firm, recently won a Regal Award along with Atlanta’s B. Sheppard Consulting for their efforts in organizing and promoting the Saluda River Club Realtor Preview Event. The award was presented by the Sales and Marketing Council of the Home Builders Association of Greater Columbia.
Various advertising firms have been recognized by the American Advertising Federation of The Midlands. Riggs won six Gold and six Silver Addy Awards and Best of Show and Best of Broadcast. Unlimited Marketing Solutions won one Gold and three Silver Addy Awards. Chernoff Newman won eight Gold and 18 Silver Addy Awards and two Special Judges’ Awards. ADCO won six Gold and six Silver Addy Awards. Palmetto Health won a Best of Print award; Mad Monkey, Best of Interactive; Sammy Rutkowski, Best Non-traditional Advertising in the student competition; and BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina, Excellence in Design.
Sonoco, a Hartsville-based global packaging company, recently ranked 27th on the 100 Best Corporate Citizens List for 2009 by Corporate Responsibility Officer magazine. They were judged in seven key areas: environment, climate change, human rights, philanthropy, employee relations, financial and governance.
