Municipal elections
Below you will find a list and maps of City of Columbia wards and polling places, as well as council district demographic and economic data, and maps showing ward boundaries. Please note that the district maps are large PDF* files and might take some time to appear in your browser. Some browsers might open them in separate windows. Either way, you should have access to tools to zoom in, explore and print or save them to your computer.
To view details on polling places: Click "Show" links on the polling places list for maps. Click the links again to hide the maps.
To view wards on the district maps: Use the zoom button to see ward details. You also can search for wards or other map locations using the search box on the maps.

Why are there only four districts when there are seven council members? Columbia has a "4-2-1" system, meaning there are four members representing each district, two at-large council members representing the entire city and the mayor.
Show/hide election information (updated)
There is a June 13 special election to elect a City of Columbia Council member to represent the city's District 2.
The polls open at 7 a.m. on election day and close at 7 p.m.

Ballot certification will take place July 15 at 2 p.m. at Council Chambers, 2nd floor, Richland County Administration Building, 2020 Hampton St., conducted by the Municipal Election Commission.
A run-off, if needed, will be held July 27.
