FORT COLLINS, Colo. -Authorities say a knife-wielding man briefly held two state employees hostage at a northern Colorado weigh station after being told to park his truck overnight.

Police arrested 49-year-old Samuel Ervin Brown of Columbia on Tuesday night at the station on I-25. The two employees were rescued without being injured.

Authorities said Brown held men at knifepoint for about 10 minutes after he was issued a citation and told to park his truck until Wednesday morning. He was arrested on kidnapping charges and taken to jail.

Department of Revenue spokesman Mark Couch declined to comment on the citation because drivers' records are confidential. He said truck drivers are generally required to park overnight when they exceed the number of hours allowed without a break.
