Suspects sought in school computer thefts

A Gilbert man wanted on arrest warrants in connection with the theft of 51 computers at Batesburg-Leesville High School is being sought by Lexington County sheriff’s detectives.

The thefts totaling $75,238 occurred in February and April, Sheriff James R. Metts said.

Jeremy Antwoin “Tookie” Williams, 20, is charged with two counts of second-degree burglary, two counts of grand larceny and two counts of criminal conspiracy, Metts said.

Detectives also are searching for a 16-year-old boy in connection with the thefts. He will be prosecuted in family court on identical charges, Metts said.

Williams is 6-foot-2 and weighs 210 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes.

Call the Sheriff’s Department at (803) 785-8230 or Crime Stoppers at (888) 559-TIPS.
