Fairfield County: Deputies bust 4 moonshine stills

Fairfield County deputies say they have busted four moonshine stills and destroyed about 30 gallons of the homemade liquor.

Sheriff Herman Young said his narcotics investigators found four stills in some woods and smashed them with guns and axes Thursday.

Investigators also destroyed 20 gallons of clear moonshine and 10 gallons of moonshine flavored with fruits.

The stills are part of a broader investigation deputies are conducting, Young said.
