Two accused of assault are arrested

Two men accused of assaulting another man in a Fairforest Road apartment were arrested Monday by Richland County Sheriff’s deputies.

Jonathon R. Litch and Jonathan D. Wells, both 20, were charged with burglary and were at Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center, said Lt. Chris Cowan, department spokesman.

The victim told police he was hiding in his kitchen Monday when two men forced open his front door. They kicked and punched him in the face and head before fleeing, according to an incident report.

The man told police he thought the attack was brought on by a dispute over rent money.
