Another fire began at the old Bleachery building near downtown Rock Hill late Friday afternoon, exactly one week after a July 3 blaze that still lingers in the middle of the roof.
The Rock Hill Fire Department said it was notified at about 4:45 p.m. that a new fire had started in an area of the building that was unaffected by the first fire.
While officials are treating it as a separate incident, this fire is similar in many ways to the one that poured smoke into nearby neighborhoods last weekend. The flames were slightly smaller and were contained to the roof of the building, Battalion Chief Ben Funderburk said.
