Broadway comes to Lexington

LEXINGTON COUNTY CHORAL SOCIETY: 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday at Saxe Gotha Presbyterian Church, 5503 Sunset Blvd., Lexington. “Broadway Nights” will feature music from Disney, Rodgers and Hammerstein, Lerner and Loewe, Gershwin, Bernstein, Lloyd Webber and others. Pulling out all the stops

HIGH SCHOOL ORGANISTS COMPETITION: 10 a.m. Saturday at Shandon United Methodist Church, 3407 Devine St. Prizes of $1,000, $500, $300 and $250 will be awarded. Sponsored by the Greater Columbia Chapter of AGO (American Guild of Organists) to promote the art of pipe organ performance. Free and open to the public.


A magical afternoon

JOHN TUDOR’S MAGIC WORKSHOP: 1-4 p.m. Saturday at Columbia Children’s Theatre, Richland Mall, 3400 Forest Drive, second level. Interactive hands-on class for children age 6 and older. Adults are welcome to stay and watch but not required to; seating is limited so each child may have individual attention. $20 (includes all special materials). (803) 691-4548
