CARS 2 DREAMS CAR SHOW: 8 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday at the Camden Recreation Department, 1050 Dekalb St. Live entertainment, food, alcohol-free event. Prizes for Best in Show, Best Truck, Best GM, Ford, Mopar, non-Big 3, Top 40. Entry fee, $10; registration 8-11 am. Proceeds will benefit the Shriners Hospital for Children in Greenville.


ENGENUITYSC SCIENCE CAFE: 6-7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Speakeasy, 711 Saluda Ave. Science Cafe is a free, informal talk in a casual pub environment; meet the second Tuesday monthly. Dr. Jamie Lead, one of the world’s top nanoscience researchers, focuses on the scientific, technological, health, economic, legal and societal behaviors and effects of nanoscience.


PAALS UN-GALA: 7 p.m. March 22 at the State Museum, 301 Gervais St. Palmetto Animal Assisted Life Services charity event has food, beverages and entertainment on par with a formal gala, but with a more relaxed and casual atmosphere. This year’s theme is a Parrot Head party – “Dog-Aritaville.” Games, music by the Tsunami Wave Riders, live and silent auctions and more. Tickets are $40 if purchased by Saturday; $60 after and at the door.
