A wee bit of Irish a wee bit early

’Tis not too early to start celebrating St. Patrick’s Day

’Tis not too early to start celebrating St. Patrick’s Day.

Enjoy the music and dance of the Emerald Isle on Tuesday at the Newberry Opera House when Dublin’s Irish Cabaret takes the stage. Featuring the lively music of Irish singer/songwriter Andy Cooney and a bit o’ malarkey from Irish comedian Noel V. Ginnity, the cabaret offers the next best thing to a day in Dublin.

The cabaret also features traditional Irish dance from All Ireland Champions, and performances by Irish tenor Paul Hennessy and soprano Emer Hartnett.

Lads and lasses who attend the Irish Cabaret can also enjoy dinner at the Cabana Cafe near the Newberry Opera House. Seating is at 5:30 p.m. and the menu includes choice of steak, shrimp and grits, or chicken and pork, as well as appetizer, soup or salad, bread, beverage and dessert.

Showtimes for Dublin’s Irish Cabaret are at 3 and 8 p.m. Tickets are $30-$35 and available at newberryoperahouse.com.
