246th ARMY BAND CONCERT: 7 p.m. Saturday at Ebenezer Lutheran Church, 1301 Richland St. Patrons and Friends of the Arts at Ebenezer Inc. presents the 246th Army Band of the S.C. National Guard. Band members have proudly served their state and nation since the group’s inception in 1939 as part of the 178th Field Artillery. Free and open to the public; a reception will follow the performance. The fundamentals of furniture
COLUMBIA MUSEUM OF ART: “Furniture in the Lower Southern Piedmont: New Findings and Projected Projects,” 6:30-9 p.m. Tuesday at 1515 Main St. Dale Couch, curator of decorative arts at the Henry D. Green Center for the Study of Decorative Arts at the Georgia Museum of Art, will lead a discussion on scholarship in the field, the establishment of a survey project for the region and a story about a Scots-Irish cabinetmaker.
