SEE SPOT RUN 5K RUN/WALK: 7:30 a.m. Saturday from Earlewood Park (Parkside and Earlewood drives). There will also be a 9 a.m. 1K-9 fun run, pet owners are encouraged to bring their pets on leashes with them to run or walk. This year’s even offers separate starting corrals for runners, runners with dogs, walkers and walkers with dogs. Strollers are allowed and cash prizes and age group awards will be offered to 5K racers. The event is a fundraiser for the Humane Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to animals, which strives to end the overpopulation of unwanted animals by offering low-cost spay and neuter surgeries and investigates animal cruelty and neglect cases. Registration at http://strictlyrunning.com is $40 for the 5K, $25 for the 1K-9 walk; race day registration opens at 6:30 a.m.
