Farewell and adieu

BON VOYAGE, MONET: 5:30-7 p.m. Tuesday at the Columbia Museum of Art, 1515 Main St. The museum’s “The Seine at Giverny” by Claude Monet is being loaned to the Museum of Fine Arts in Houston, for an exhibition titled “Monet and the Seine: Impressions of a River.” CMA Curator Victoria Cooke will give a talk in the galleries about the painting and a reception will follow in the atrium. $10; free for CMA and Alliance Francaise members and students. Chapin’s Legion Post 193

MEMORIAL DAY CEREMONY: 10 a.m. Monday at the American Legion Memorial Monument at the Chapin Branch Library, 129 Columbia Ave. Guest speaker will be William B. “Bill” Dukes, chairman of Honor Flight SC. Refreshments will be served following the ceremony at the American Legion Post 193 home, 102 Lexington Ave., Chapin.

OPERATION THANK YOU: 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday and 1-6 p.m. Sunday in the food court at Dutch Square Center, 421 Bush River Road. Come by and sign a message of support and encouragement on cards that will be delivered to deployed service members, wounded warriors and military families.
