Trustus fundraiser

“LARRY’S BRING YOUR OWN DINNER DINNER THEATRE,” a fundraiser for Trustus Theatre, will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Trustus, 520 Lady St. Act I will feature the “talents” of Miss Loreen DeMint, Miss Polly Gripp, Miss Tess Tickles and guest Miss Patti O’Furniture. Act II will feature the Dick Goodwin Trio with singers Kim Harne, Sam McWhite, Katrina Blanding, Janet Hopkins, Caroline Weidner and Avery Bateman. The bar opens at 6 p.m. (bring your own dinner, really), dress is tacky tourist bad dinner theater attire. Tickets are $20, available at http://trustus.org.


Spiders and snakes

REPTICON: 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday at the Jamil Temple, 206 Jamil Road. Expo of reptiles, amphibians, invertebrates, spiders and small exotic animals. Breeders and vendors will offer animals, merchandise, cages, supplies, live and frozen feeders; there will be seminars featuring live animals with an opportunity for guests to interact with them and raffles both days. VIP tickets (good for both days, 9 a.m. entry on Saturday and product samples) are $12; ages 5-12, $4; age 4 and younger, free; two-day tickets are $15 and $5; one-day tickets at the door are $10 and $5. http://repticon.com/columbia.html


Civil War art

STATE MUSEUM: “Chapman’s Charleston, 1863-1864,” Civil War art exhibit featuring 33 paintings by artist and Confederate soldier Conrad Wise Chapman. The exhibit is open Saturday through Jan. 18 at 301 Gervais St. Museum hours are 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Mondays-Saturdays and 1-5 p.m. Sundays. Admission is $7; age 62 and older, $6; ages 3-12, $5; age 2 and younger, free. http://scmuseum.org
