See the work created by the finalists for the 701 CCA Prize 2014 at a reception 7-9 p.m. Thursday at the gallery at 701 Whaley, second floor. The finalists for the 701 CCA Prize 2014 are Andrew Blanchard of Spartanburg, Shannon Rae Lindsey of Columbia and Karen Ann Myers of Charleston. The 701 CCA Prize 2014 is a competition and exhibition for South Carolina artists 40 and younger; the winner will be announced in December.

‘’Tis the Season’
8 p.m. Friday at the Chapin Firehouse Theatre, 102 Lexington Ave., Chapin (American Legion Post 193). You know the drill, as soon as Labor Day is over, it’s nonstop HalloweenThanksgivingChristmasNewYear’s. Chapin Theatre Company production follows cul-de-sac denizens as they try to wade through the holidays. There will be a costume contest at intermission. Revolutionary War Field Day
10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday at the Historic Camden Revolutionary War Site, 222 Broad St., Camden. Skirmishes at 1:30 p.m., encampments, fife and drum mini-concerts, colonial games for children, period fashion show and house tours. Admission is $8; seniors (62 and older) and military, $6; ages 6-12, $4; younger than 6, free. Family rate, $20 (two adults and three children younger than 12). Free parking.
