It’s Ladies’ Night at the Columbia Museum of Art, complete with music, shopping and drinks.
The event is set against the backdrop of the museum’s latest exhibit, featuring artwork and artifacts from iconic American artist Norman Rockwell’s career. Guests can snack on hors d’oeuvres while perusing accessories made by local artisans, including Alicia Leeke, a post-impressionist painter from Columbia. Leeke is a graduate of the University of South Carolina and honed her painting skills at the museum’s classes. She will be selling silk scarves at the event.
Guests can also purchase purses and clutches from Mary Catherine Kunze, who makes each piece by hand. Kunze’s Uniquely MC purses are sold at retailers throughout Columbia, including Good for the Sole Shoes and occasionally at the Soda City Market. Cindy Saad’s stone and wire jewelry will also be for sale.
If shoppers want to stock up for birthdays or get an early start on holiday shopping, the museum is also providing a gift wrapping station.
