Is your medication safe?
FREE LUNCHTIME LECTURE: Noon-1 p.m. Thursday at the Lourie Center, 1650 Park Circle (Maxcy Gregg Park). As people age and change, so do their nutritional needs. Nutritional deficiencies can result when medicines react with certain foods or suppress appetite. Some medications can bind to nutrients, preventing the nutrients from being properly absorbed and used by the body. Nutrition drinks, alcohol, nutritional supplements or herbal products can all interact with medications. Nivia Green, LPN from Senior Health Associates will discuss medication safety and nutrition. Refreshments will be provided to those who RSVP, call (803) 779-1971; http://louriecentersc.com
