Guests at the South Carolina State Museum will be able to sip on wine and nibble on gourmet treats while perusing Palmetto State specialties at the museum’s “Tasting Twosdays” every Tuesday in December from 5 until 8 p.m., starting today.
The museum has extended hours on Tuesdays, also from 5 to 8 p.m., and guests can explore exhibits or take in a show. The State Museum is featuring three holiday-themed shows: a 4-D, 15-minute adaptation of the classic children’s book “The Polar Express” and “Star of Bethlehem” and a holiday laser show in the planetarium. Guests can also take advantage of the nighttime hours by visiting the observatory and examining the night sky through its telescope.
Visitors can also take in the museum’s many exhibits featuring the history and culture of South Carolina. Current exhibits include paintings by Conrad Wise Chapman depicting the Civil War in Charleston and relics from South Carolina’s natural history.
Wine samples will be from Ginger Wine Ninja Pinot Noir, a Columbia owned wine label. Food will also be South Carolina-sourced.
