‘Wearable Art: High Stepping into Fashion’
“WEARABLE ART: HIGH STEPPING INTO FASHION”: 6 p.m. Thursday on the 17th floor of the Meridian Building, 1320 Main St. Friends of African-American Art & Culture (FAAAC), a Columbia Museum of Art membership affiliate group, presents the event to celebrate the launch of Sergio Hudson’s holiday collection. Hudson (a Ridgeway native), his design partner Charles Lynch and Italian shoe boutique owner Gwen Rawls will lead a conversation on African Americans in the fashion industry. ‘What Shall I Bring?’
Sandlapper Singers 7:30 p.m. Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 3600 Devine St. “What Shall I Bring?” is a holiday concert that includes music reflecting the changes in America’s holiday customs with traditional carols and a commissioned work that features the voices of the Young Sandlapper Singers.
