Misti and Jim Raman, having sorta escaped elimination last week in 'The Amazing Race," were out to prove themselves winners again.
As Jim said after the grueling leg in Marrakesh, "I don't have time for pain."
Speedbump: In Morocco, the Columbia dentists had to complete a task before joining the rest of the teams. Hanging eight handmade rugs against a wall in the market turned out to be harder than it looks.
Detour: Each team had to assist a local food vendor set up in the Jemaa el Fna market, a giant open-air square in the heart of the city.
Never miss a local story.
Roadblock: A giant open (and odorous) tannery was the place for one team member to prepare goat skins for market, by separating the hair from the skin and delivering the product by bicycle. Misti took it for the team; confusion over where to deliver the goat skins put all the teams on the same playing field again.
Detour: Once again, the two found a challenge in a restaurant challenging. Misti and Jim were schooled in the art of pouring mint tea, the favored beverage in Morocco.
That tradition includes holding a full tray of tea glasses with one arm. Which Misti didn't get until after the ninth attempt.
No worries. They came in sixth. The team from Nashville, Keith and Whitney, sputtered to the Pit Stop, becoming the latest two to be eliminated.
