Chadwick Boseman, a native of Anderson, has had some pretty big shoes to fill in his first two major acting roles: first at baseball great Jackie Robinson, then as the Godfather of Soul, James Brown.
Now he’s been attached to a new “Black Panther” movie, coming out in November 2017.
The announcement came Tuesday in Los Angeles as the new title for the movie, “Captain America: Civil War” was revealed.
Black Panther is a breakthrough Marvel character, the first black superhero in the comic franchise. Boseman will play T’Challa, the head of a fictional African nation, whose superpowers include super strength, senses, speed and intellect.
In the Marvel universe, the Black Panther is a member of the Avengers and has enlisted the help of the Fantastic Four.
