A movie filmed in Columbia six years ago is finally going to be seen, but only in the United Kingdom.
“Nailed,” a star-studded comedy that included Jake Gyllenhaal, Jessica Biel and John Goodman, is being released on Amazon Prime, but only in the U.K., according to the Internet Movie Database.
For about six weeks in the summer of 2008, cast members and director David O. Russell were in town filming at local churches and the State House, which doubled as the U.S. Capitol.
But disputes over pay and financing shut down production at least four times. The crew finally left town in July 2008.
“Nailed” is a political satire about a working-class woman (Biel) who had a nail shot through her head, changing her personality, but also making her a political pawn. It was co-written by Kristin Gore, daughter of former vice president Al Gore.
If anything, the movie shoot provided celebrity fodder for sightings of Biel and her now-husband Justin Timberlake or of Reese Witherspoon, who was dating Gyllenhaal at the time of filming.
