Racing pigs, Celtic dancers, fine art and elephant ears — all that and more ended Sunday night as the 142nd S.C. State Fair in Columbia took its final bow for the year.

Following Monday's post about my Whack-A-Mole streak at the S.C. State Fair, I'm sure many of you have been wondering about the skills that go into developing my championship form.
My streak is safe – for the time being. One of the few State Fair games that I’ve been fairly proficient in through the years (oh, who am I kidding, I’m great) is the Whack-A-Mole. And to make sure I don’t lose my touch (and win his youngest son a prize in the process), my good friend Ben Breazeale always offers to cough up the money for me to play each year.
Today is the last day of the 2011 State Fair.
