Bradley catches more top baseball honors

South Carolina outfielder Jackie Bradley Jr. has been named to the Baseball America 2009 Freshman All-American Team.

Bradley, a first-team selection, hit .349 (89-for-255) with 11 HR and 46 RBI and played in all 63 games on the year with 61 starts.

He ended the season on a high note with a productive NCAA Regional in Greenville, N.C., where he hit .500 (9-for-18) for the weekend with a pair of homers and eight runs scored.

Bradley's first season with the Gamecocks included 26 multi-hit games, the third highest total on the Gamecock squad. His 89 hits on the year is also a USC record for hits by a freshman in single season.

He was also a member of the SEC All-Freshman team and received Freshman All-America honors from both Collegiate Baseball and the NCBWA.

Bradley is competing this summer in the Cape Cod Baseball League for the Hyannis Mets along with teammate Jay Brown. Whit Merrifield and Parker Bangs are also on the Cape playing for the Chatham A's.
