Surgery to sideline Westmoreland for 2010

USC left-handed pitcher Adam Westmoreland underwent Tommy John surgery Thursday to repair the ulnar collateral ligament in his left arm. Westmoreland will miss the 2010 season.

As a freshman this year, the former Brookland-Cayce standout compiled a 4-2 record with a 4.24 ERA in 13 appearances, six of them starts. He struck out 46 and in 46ð innings.
