A look at the Gamecocks' ACC championship season.
- Wins against Duke, North Carolina, N.C. State, Maryland and Wake Forest gave USC a 5-0 conference record and clinched the ACC title, the Gamecocks' first championship in 75 years.
- USC beat Clemson 27-13 in its regular-season finale to finish 6-0 in the ACC.
- With a 7-3 record, USC earned a Peach Bowl berth against West Virginia, the Gamecocks' first bowl appearance since 1945.
- Running back Warren Muir was a consensus All-American. Tommy Suggs, Fred Ziegler, Billy DuPre, Jimmy Poston, Pat Watson and Dave DeCamilla were named All-ACC.
