The Green Bay Packers signed former Gamecock Jamon Meredith to a contract, the team announced Thursday.
Meredith, an offensive tackle from Simpsonville, was a fifth round pick by the Packers in this year's NFL Draft.
Three Gamecocks went in the fifth round: receiver Kenny McKinley (141st overall to Denver), middle linebacker Jasper Brinkley (150th to Minnesota) and Meredith (162nd).
Meredith was a three-year starter at both tackle and guard at South Carolina. He is projected to be the Packers' left tackle.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed. But The Packer Report reported that the deal is likely in the neighborhood of four years and $1.75 million.
Meredith is the fourth of the Packers' eight draft picks to sign with the team.
The Gamecocks had seven players picked in this year's draft, the second-most in program history and the most since the draft was shortened to seven rounds in 1994.
Jared Cook was the highest USC player drafted (third round) by the Tennessee Titans.
Ryan Succop (Chiefs), Captain Munnerlyn (Panthers) and Stoney Woodson (Giants) have all signed contracts with their respective teams.
