Offensive lineman Tramell Williams (6-2 260) of Jacksonville, Fla., committed to South Carolina on Friday as expected.
Williams chose the Gamecocks over Illinois, Vanderbilt, Maryland, Southern Miss, and Indiana.
He becomes the 11th commitment and the fourth offensive lineman in the 2010 class for the USC.
Williams made his decision official after completing a two-day visit to Illinois on Friday. Williams said he liked both places but feels the chance for early playing time is greater at USC.
"I can get on the field," Williams said, "I can see myself excelling. I can honestly see myself playing there as a freshman or a redshirt. Both had a lot to offer."
Williams said he actually committed to South Carolina on Wednesday at the end of an unofficial visit there.
Williams said the commitment is a firm one, but added, "I still want to see who comes knocking at my door."
He had 69 pancakes as a junior and 23 tackles on defense.
