USC has added two more commitments to their 2009 class: offensive lineman Johnnie Farms (6-foot-3, 306 pounds) of Perry, Ga., and Georgia Military JC linebacker Josh Dickerson (6-2 220).
The two commitments push USC’s total to 17.
Farms committed Monday night, picking the Gamecocks over Auburn, Alabama, Florida and Central Florida.
“It feels good to get it over with,” Farms said. “South Carolina is a good place to go to. I think I can have a big impact there and win an SEC championship next year. It’s a very high possibility I can come in and play next year.” Farms said he was recruited to play left guard.
With Dickerson’s commitment, USC landed the second half of a linebacker tandem.
Earlier this month, Georgia Military linebacker Tony Straughter committed to the Gamecocks. Dickerson and Straughter made their official visit to USC the weekend of the Wofford game.
“I liked the atmosphere and the facilities, and the chance of playing early,” Dickerson said.
Dickerson is a native of Kingsland, Ga. He said he is on track to graduate in December and will have three years to play two.
