1. Gas is $3.05 a gallon in Virginia.
2. Get to spend most of the trip trying to figure out why there are "Watch for Falling Rocks" signs. Did I not get the instruction manual for how to deal with falling rocks?
3. Man-made marvels like the mile-long Big Walker Mountain Tunnel and the East River Mountain Tunnel in West Virginia.
4. Many more reasons to believe mountains have it over beaches.
5. Visit to the Marshall University memorial fountain in Huntington, W.Va., where the entire football team was killed in an airplane crash on Nov. 14, 1970.
