FIRST QUARTER
Florida 21 | USC 0
KEY MOMENT: A backpedaling Chris Smelley throws a third-down pass right to Florida linebacker Brandon Spikes, who returns it 12 yards for the game’s first score. The play begins a nine-play span, including kickoffs, in which Gamecocks give up 21 points.
THE MAN: Florida’s Percy Harvin has two carries, but one is a 26-yard touchdown. The other goes for 22 yards. He also catches a 6-yard pass.

KEY MOMENT: Tim Tebow hits receiver Deonte Thompson on a 46-yard pass to increase the lead to 28-0 with 11:17 left. USC cornerback Carlos Thomas is stride-for-stride with Thompson until the last moment. Thompson makes the grab in the corner.
THE MAN: USC linebacker Eric Norwood pads his SEC lead in sacks with another one and returns a fumble 28 yards, including about 20 yards with Tebow on his shoulder.

KEY MOMENT: While on the run, quarterback Stephen Garcia throws down the right side, but Florida freshman safety Will Hill cuts in front of the receiver and returns the interception 30 yards into USC territory. That leads to Florida’s final touchdown.
THE MAN: Florida gives freshman speedster Chris Rainey his first significant playing time of the game, and he rushes for 58 yards, including a 34-yard run and a 3-yard touchdown.
