Cory Boyd waived by Buccaneers
From staff reports
Former Gamecock standout Cory Boyd was waived Friday by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers because of a knee injury but could wind up sticking with the team.
Multiple Tampa-area media outlets reported that Boyd failed a physical because of his knee issues. If no other team claims Boyd off waivers, he'll head to the Buccaneers' injured reserve.
Boyd hurt his knee in offseason workouts.
A seventh-round pick of the Bucs, he was the Gamecocks' leading rusher last season with 903 yards on 180 carries.
