Linebacker drops Georgia Tech for USC

Linebacker Chaun Gresham (6-foot-3, 215 pounds) of Winder, Ga., decomitted from Georgia Tech on Friday and committed to USC.

Gresham had committed to Tech in March but Gamecocks recruiter Shane Beamer continued to work him.

Gresham attended USC’s camp last month, and after that he knew that’s where he wanted to be.

“It was a long process but I did my pros and cons, and I know what was right, and South Carolina came out on top,” Gresham said Friday night. “I like the players, the coaches, the facilities, everything. They impressed me about everything.”

Gresham said he notified Beamer around 2 p.m. Friday of his decision and notified Georgia Tech on Friday night. “I’m solid, I’m a Gamecock now,” he said.

Last season Gresham had 113 tackles and five sacks. He is the 14th commitment for the Gamecocks, and the second for Beamer in two days.
