USC freshman receiver DeAngelo Smith will miss spring practice after recently breaking a bone in his right foot, media relations director Steve Fink said Friday.
Fink said he was uncertain how Smith was injured, but it did not occur during the Gamecocks’ offseason strength and conditioning drills. Smith, a 6-foot, 170-pound native of Kingsland, Ga., was redshirted last season.
USC is scheduled to begin spring practice the week of March 15, with the spring game set for 4 p.m. on April 10.
