2012 among hottest throughout SC

Last year was remarkably hot throughout the state.
Columbia tied its official average daily temperature high of 66.5, matching the 1990 mark at Columbia Metropolitan Airport. Columbia records go back 125 years.
On the other side of town, the Clemson Sandhill station, which has records going back 65 years, set an all-time high of 65.3.
At other longtime weather stations in the state, 2012 will go down as warmest ever in Anderson, second warmest at Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport, fifth warmest in Florence and seventh warmest at Charleston International Airport, according to the Southeast Regional Climate Center.
By comparison, the mean temperature in Miami in 2012 was 76 degrees.
