LB Ty Linton (6-2 210) of Charlotte, who is also a baseball prospect as an outfielder, will attend Clemson's junior day Saturday and would love to leave with an offer from the Tigers.
"They said off my film it's a potential offer," Linton said. "They want me to come down and size me up. If I leaning towards anything right now it would be Clemson because they arer the only school talking to me about being a two sport athlete. I was at Clemson last weekend for baseball and I talked to coach Leggett. If Clemson offered, that would be a hard thing to pass up. It's a great school, not too far from home, not too close. They have a great tradition and a beautiful campus."
Linton, who grew up in Illinois as a Big Ten fan before moving to Charlotte six years ago, has offers from Wisconsin, Illinois, Duke, West Virginia and Miami of Ohio
USC has had some contact along with NC State, North Carolina and Virginia. USC recruiter Lorenzo Ward invited Linton to USC's junior day Saturday but he had already made plans to go to Clemson.
Linton plays outside linebacker and is used as a pass rusher and a pass defender. Last season he had about 80 tackles and 8.5 sacks.
